About Me

Hello! I’m a Texas based photographer— currently living in Houston. I’m a cat lover, hair tie hater, plant fanatic, music enthusiast, and I’ve recently been described as a photography artist. I’m a professional photographer & your new personal hype (wo)man!

My love for photography started young. My dad bought me my first digital camera at Big Lots for about $75 when I was still in elementary school— we lived in Arizona, and would often go on hikes & spend time outdoors. Anywhere we went on the weekends, whether as a family or just a little excursion between my dad and I— I brought that camera. We moved to Texas around my middle school years, and I dropped my passion and focused more on paintings and drawings (humble brag: I was pretty good, haha) and had a wonderful teacher. In high school, my dad bought me my first “professional camera” for a graduation present. He noticed that I had started taking pictures with my phone (I was that kid in high school that photographed everything), but as we all know, Android photography just isn’t stellar.

I did my first year of sessions completely free— occasionally someone would tip me, or pay me without me asking, and soon enough I was building my portfolio with friends, family, and word of mouth— and a lot of people told me I needed to start my own business. I photographed my first wedding, and completely fell in love with capturing couples, and I’ve never stopped! In 2020, with the first stimulus check I used that & quite a bit of savings to buy my first mirrorless camera— to non-camera people: I bought a big girl camera that is my pride and joy. I hope that gives you a feel for who I am, for my passion, and if you have any questions or want to know more about me, you’re welcome to ask!

How do I run a successful business and keep my couples happy?

There’s a lot of different answers to this, but there’s one thing that is key: communication.

I am constantly communicating with my couples, and I make sure everyone feels comfortable and happy with all photos taken and posted. I keep my prices affordable, I understand we can’t all afford the standard rates for photographers, and we all deserve to have our moments preserved in time!

Why should I book you?

Well, first you should be asking who should you book? You should book somebody you get along with, someone you can see yourself friends with. I hear from a lot of couples that they wish they vetted their vendors better and made a personal connection with each vendor.

Yes, I want to encourage you to book with me, but more importantly I want to highlight that your photographer/videographer will be the people you spend the most time with on your wedding day besides your fiancé.

It’s important that not only you pick someone whose style you love— but you pick the right match for you!

I’m bright, bubbly, and I will definitely shed tears with you on your wedding day, and I will also laugh and make memories with you too. I truly care about my couples, and I always want to capture everyone in their full beauty.

My goal with photography is to tell your story.

This is also a reason you shouldn’t hire some random corporate business— while it may seem easier, sometimes with these big corporations, you have no idea who will be capturing your wedding day until they show up that day.

Support local & small businesses, we would not be here without you and I promise you’re encouraging and supporting a dream much more than feeding a corporation some money who will not take care of you as much as us small owners will.

Why is it important to book your photographer and videographer together?

I could list a million and one reasons under this question— but to keep it simple, if you hire your photographer & videographer together, you know they have chemistry. You know they know how to communicate. You know they care about each others work. It’s not all about the photography or videography. It’s a team effort— which means we’ll make sure we stay out of each others shots, we’ll both get the shots we need and want. We work as a team (2 heads are better than one), which means more creativity together, instead of a competition-mindset. We have immense respect for each others craft, and with respect comes better products for both photography and videography.

If you had one piece of advice for people planning a wedding, what would it be?

I don’t think I can narrow this down to one piece of advice, so here’s some freebies:

1) Put budget towards videography. I hear over and over and over that married couples wish they had videography during their wedding. These are precious moments you’ll NEVER get back. Speeches, dances, your vows, moments with your loved ones laughing, hugging, crying, and as beautiful as photography is, it just does not capture movements in the same way as professional videography. If you want videography, but are struggling budgeting it, let me know. We’ll work out a very reasonable payment plan for you.

2) Get a wedding planner. Let me repeat that. Get a wedding planner. It’s not only worth your money, but it’s worth your time. You will relieve so much stress on yourself if you have somebody in the industry to help. If you need a recommendation, I highly recommend @SweetLuRae on instagram. Jessica is very professional, and you unlock secret specials if you book both of us.

3) Really put thought into your music. Your audio track to your wedding is EVERY THING. It sets the tone for your wedding and your love story. While a generic wedding playlist can work, it is so much more special to pick the songs you walk down the aisle to, the songs you do your first dances to, the audio track you leave to. These are all such special moments, and every time you hear those songs it will take you back to those moments. Curate your own audio track. It’s more than worth it.
